Max Brearley Journalist and Critic

Max Brearley is a food journalist and critic exploring the world of food, drink, agriculture and travel. A regular contributor to top publications including delicious., Escape, The Australian, The Weekend Australian Magazine, The Guardian, Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Halliday, Gourmet Traveller WINE, Virgin Australia and SilverKris. Max is currently Contributing Editor for The West Australian Good Food Guide. He is also the host of The Ingredient podcast, a deep-dive into remarkable ingredients and the stories behind them.


As a copywriter, host / MC and consultant, Max works on a number of branded content projects with Offshoot Creative. Clients including the likes of Tourism WA, Tourism Australia, Australia’s South West, Your Margaret River, IMG (Western Australia Gourmet Escape), Brookfield Properties, West Australian Opera, Pullman Hotels and Resorts (Accor), CitiBank, Perth Writers Festival, Buy West Eat Best and more. Between 2016 - 2018 he was co-Festival Director for Truffle Kerfuffle, Australian Truffle Festival.

Max is based in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. He reguarly covers stories in Perth, Margaret River, throughout Australia and internationally.
